Why we keep each business independent
Shared brand, separate risk: the thinking behind running five businesses as five distinct companies.

It would be simpler, on paper, to run Aptila as one company with five divisions. One balance sheet, one board, one set of systems. It would also be a mistake.
A mining business and a trading business don't carry the same risk, and they shouldn't share a balance sheet as if they do. A community incident at a mine site, an environmental compliance issue, a commodity price swing — none of that should be able to reach into a logistics business or a travel business that had nothing to do with it. Keeping each business as its own legal entity, with its own licensing and its own governance, means a problem in one place stays in one place.
It also means each business gets the board it actually needs. A mining business needs geological and ESG expertise at the table. An investment business needs an independent investment committee. Trying to serve both with one generalist board serves neither well.
What the businesses do share is the Aptila name, and what that's supposed to signal: the same discipline, the same long-term orientation, the same commitment to doing things properly rather than quickly. Shared brand, separate risk — that's not a slogan, it's the actual structure.
